Uric acid

Metabolic waste — excess drives gout and kidney strain.

Uric acid is a natural waste product resulting from the metabolism of purines, which are compounds found in our body's cells and in many foods we consume. Most uric acid is dissolved in the blood, filtered by the kidneys, and excreted in urine. Occasionally, the body produces too much uric acid or the kidneys do not excrete enough. Elevated levels can crystallize in joints and soft tissues.
