Arsenic

Arsenic is a naturally occurring element found in the earth's crust, present in water, soil, and air. Humans can be exposed to arsenic primarily through contaminated drinking water and certain foods like rice and shellfish. It exists in organic and inorganic forms, with inorganic arsenic generally considered more harmful to human health. Urine testing measures the total arsenic excreted by the body, providing insight into recent exposure levels. The body typically eliminates arsenic within a few days of exposure.
