Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) is a dimeric glycoprotein produced by granulosa cells of the ovarian follicles. Its primary role in reproductive biology is to regulate the development of these follicles, which are the structures containing immature eggs. AMH levels correlate with the number of small, growing follicles within the ovaries, making it a useful indicator of ovarian reserve. Unlike other reproductive hormones, AMH levels remain relatively stable throughout the menstrual cycle, providing a consistent measure for assessment. It is detectable in the blood and used to evaluate various aspects of female reproductive health.
